I moved to Rhode Island in November of 1965 when my dad became Pastor of the Lakewood Baptist Church. I have been a member of the church since 1965 by letter of transfer from the First Baptist Church, Somerville, Massachusetts.

Besides being one of the lay leaders of the church, I'm the treasurer, member of the finance committee, member of the deaconate board, chairperson of Nominating Committee and part of the praise and worship team. I spend a lot of time on church business because of all my duties but, I do it because I feel the Lord has called me to take an active role in my church and to support my Pastor wherever I can.

One of the real joys of my life right now is " The Power Of Prayer" E-Mail Prayer Line that I started a few years ago. I have prayer warriors on the prayer line from Massachusetts to Florida and it is used often as people request prayers for those in need. I have seen many, many answered prayers.

My biggest joy is helping other people who are less fortunate than I am. Some walks that I have done to raise money for those in need include the MS Walk, Warwick Shelter Walk, Crop Walk (for the hungry), Harvard Health Walk and the Rhode Island Food Bank Walk. I also, volunteer at South Providence Neighborhood Ministries at Thanksgiving and Christmas. My greatest adventure for helping others was in 1995 when I went on a Mission Work Tour to Cordova, Alaska with 26 other people from Baptist Churches throughout Rhode Island to help put a new roof on a church.

Outside the church, I am a member of the Photographic Society of RI (for 25 years this October). I've served in many positions on the board of directors as well as being a past president.

One of my photography projects included a slide show set to music entitled "And God Created". This has been shown at a couple of churches to raise money for projects in my church.

I hope this has helped you to get to know me a little better than before.
